The Boy

Indrajit was five years old when his father died of heart disease. He didn't grow up chasing an answer to that loss. He grew up curious — about how things work, about systems, about the quiet logic underneath complicated machines. A grand-uncle, who worked in medicine, was one of the few adults who noticed that curiosity for what it was, and pointed him gently toward healthcare long before he understood what that would eventually mean.

The Engineer

That curiosity became electrical engineering — signal, system, cause and effect, traced patiently until the picture resolves. It's a way of thinking he never set aside, even once he set the field aside. He wanted, from early on, to bring the math-and-science instinct together with something more human. Cardiac electrophysiology, when he eventually found it, felt less like a career change and more like the place those two instincts had been heading all along: electrical engineering for the heart.

The Physician

Medicine became the craft. Not a departure from engineering, but its natural extension — a different kind of system, with its own signals to read and its own logic to master. What engineering couldn't give him was the person on the other end of the signal. Medicine did.

The Electrophysiologist

The electrical heart became his life's professional expertise: arrhythmias, implanted devices, ablation — the exacting, narrow work of getting a diagnosis exactly right before a single decision is made. Unlike much of chronic disease management, cardiac electrophysiology often gets to offer something rarer: a cure, not just a treatment. That distinction matters to him more than most people realize.

The Patients

Medicine taught him that disease is never only physiological. A device can tell a physician almost everything about a heart. It tells the patient almost nothing — and that gap became impossible to ignore. He learned that the real service isn't simply "I will take care of your heart." It's asking, first, how a person wants their heart taken care of, and building the answer around that.

The Builder

He began asking how knowledge could travel farther than the physician himself — how a lifetime of clinical understanding could reach people he would never personally treat. That question became The Generator, the first visible expression of the work: cardiac-device intelligence translated into something a patient can actually use.

The Human

Husband. Father. Reader. A student of science, mortality, and possibility — curious about the world well beyond the walls of any one practice. He still finds, after decades in the field, that the hardest and best part of caring for a patient is the same moment: telling them they don't need him anymore.
